i finally gave these back to allen,
but i want them back, i didnt really watch them XD
first impressions on that little fruit company....
well the day started kinda strange, was asked to do a bunch of stuff by three people, at least, but it was okay.. since it all got done... i would have to say that this (working for apple) is what i really wanted to do for my externship.... its ridiculous to think that a chef would "enjoy" cooking, and never knowing, other than what a balance sheet tells them, how people are reacting to the food.... My daily tasks at apple include; Preparing Chicken breast for slicing (and for the Banquet/Catering group) Preparing and baking off Foccacia bread, making the Chili Bean base for the meat and vegetarian Chilies, and well thats about it.. i also put out the ice for the salad bar and the burrito/sandwich bar.... oh yeah, i also stage the Grill (cook the hamburgers, chicken breast (more chicken ugh!) and turkey burgers).... thats about what i did today.. after break i was then stationed on the Burrito bar... oh my god is that fun! i called steve and told him i was going to be doing burritos today, then he and mike came down and had them... it was fun... about... well... i'd say 3/4s of the way through lunch Jonathan Ive decided to visit, he handed me a small plate from the salad bar and asked that i make it into a burrito... yeah, what do you expect me to say, the man designed my PowerBook for crying out loud! anyway, so i lower my head, and make him a burrito, he gave me a glance at the end tho... kinda like a connection (either that or he noticed i kept staring at him) something saying, "you and i are the same, we both make kick ass product... only mine is better, now get back to work you cooking laky"... nah, not really, but either way it was cool. after that things sped up again, and then died... at about two-ish everybody (the kitchen staff) began to break down and clean up... i asked if i was supposed to do so as well, i was told to hold off... Steve (thats the big Steve, you know iCEO of Apple... that Steve) may come down and want a burrito.... i was doing fine up till then.... i could handle Jonathan Ive, he wasn't talking to me, he had a guy to talk to... but Steve!?! THE Steve!?? well... so i began to get impatient... if anything moved, i looked at it... (and i'll admit, Apple employs some CUTE young ladies..... but anyway) so there i am. five minuets to go till i close up... still no steve.... well, he didn't show, but they didn't tell me that he's been skipping on burritos as of late! NOO!! dont tell the new guy that he might be coming, but he might just now show!! i see how it is... anyway... i still dont have my badge, i am waiting for it... well actually, i was forced to wait, i didn't get a chance to go over there to get it.... so i'll get it tomorrow... hope i look good for it.... thats about it for me... catch'a all later....
